Terrible experience! Just caught Orbitz in a flat-out lie! We had a trip to New York booked through Orbitz long before Covid hit. Contacted them today to cancel. Even though my booking was non-refundable, they are giving Covid related cancellations a refund if the Hotel approves. They told me they would reach out to the hotel and send me a followup email. I received an email a few hours later that said they had contacted the hotel, and they were not giving refunds for a trip that far in advance yet (3 weeks). I promptly called the hotel myself. The man who answered said they would gladly authorize a full refund if Orbitz contacted them. He said he is the only employee currently working in the hotel and answering phones and that he had not received a call from anyone all day trying to cancel. So even though Orbitz told me they contacted the hotel, I know for a FACT that they did not!

Hello Orbitz. I never write review but this time i will because your customer service is horrible. Am going to book with again never. Am going to tell everyone not to book with you definetely. Here is my story. Im Olga. We booked tickets to Tampa. On june 10th orbitz sent me email to say my returning flights hours was change. I looked and said that okay as it give me one hour between each flight. On june 21st we came to tampa airport we trying to print tickets we can not. We came to counter and american employee tells us our flight was changed call orbits. I spent 6 hours on phone. I was crying, very upset, stressful. I have 4 year old with me. My sister works in CICU in hospital needs to be at work. Orbitz employee tells me that i should call airlines and talk with them. She is not solving issue. I talk to manager and she is not helping either. There is no flights to seattle or spokane until 26 th of june. I called alaska and alaska said that they notified orbitz on 15 th, and i was on 21 st at airport. Should orbitz notified me. Yes they should. I bought tickets with them de should notify me.?! Yes they should. They notified me that hours was changed of flights but they did not notify me that it was cancelled. Cancellation is more important that changing hours. When i told this to 2nd manager, he did not submit orbitz mistake. He made me feel that it is my mistake and i should check with airlines directly everyday if my flight would be cancelled or not. If orbitz just notified i would have plenty of time to change flights in advance and not be on phone for 6 hours, stressing out, crying, my sister was stressing out. My child was hungry, tired. Should orbits treat customer like that? No. We trust orbitz buying tickets through you and they are blaming airlines. If i bought tickets through them yes i would blame them. They treat us horrible. Could not find any flights. Told me that they are not going to pay extra for flights if there is difference. Manager offered me ticket and told me to pay $1000 difference for each tickets to fly one way for each person. I said gave me refund. I wish i said that it beginning but i waste my health, my time, and they stressed us so much. Of coarse tickets is so expensive to buy on same day but they could get find us tickets as it was their mistake they should cover the expenses. I am hoping to get refund in 30 days. I will not recommend to use orbitz to anyone especially if u buy flights. Use expedia. Or buy directly with airline. Service is horrible. They treat their customers horribly. They stressed me so much. I am very sad with customer service. I will definetely tell my relatives who fly a lot, friends, coworkers not use your company.

Could not get flight refund, even with Flight Cancellation Protection

Had to cancel a booking for a flight, only for their automated system to tell me I could not get a refund despite purchasing a Flight Cancellation Protection Package. I called multiple times only to be on hold for hours. When I finally got through to someone, I was diverted to another group who informed me that the Cancellation Protection I purchased could not be applied, and that I would not receive a refund for cancelling.
Their Cancellation Protection extension is a scam, buy from the official airline if you can, it's not worth it.

Horrible experience

I booked a car rental with them but because I have an account I failed to change the name in the booking. The car was for my wife but my name appeared on the booking. Now, I understand it is nonrefundable but there are mistakes. I was not asking for a refund but simply a way to add my wife as a driver. It took me two weeks to get to talk to someone. First, they told me that it should be The Dollar rental to make the change. I contacted Dollar and they said they can't even access the booking and neither can I. So first they lied to me and then they said, there is nothing we can do. I was forced to book another car so $ 500 was gone. I understand that orbitz made $500 out of thin air but they will never get my business again and I will try to convince as many people as possible to stay away from them.

Headache

I have used Orbitz for many years without much trouble but my most recent experience was so bad I will avoid them in the future. I tried to use airline credits with them and at first they wanted to charge $500 ea more than my credits even though I found flights for $100 ea more. I ended up making a reservation to reserve a price, which I had 24 hrs to cancel. After 5 more calls I ended up paying full price for my flights with the credit never being applied. Additionally there hold times were 2-3 hrs and one time they called me back 3 hours later only to put me on hold for another 30 minutes. Absolutely horrible.

I really don't want to give them a "1" RATING

I really don't want to give them a "1" rating that is how bad it is. I am waiting on a refund from Orbitz. I would never use their service nor will I refer any family or friend. Orbitz waited three weeks before my trip to tell me that the flight was cancelled. I purchased the tickets 3 months ago. Now the price for the tickets are two hundred dollars plus. Very bad business. NEVER AGAIN!

Horrible Customer Service

I attempted to use my airline credits to rebook a flight. The customer service agents were rude and ineffective. I talked to six agents within two days. One agent obtained my details and then proceeded to put me on hold for over 30 minutes with no explanation. Another agent insinuated I was a liar after I told them I had spoke to four previous agents.

Here is the real issue. You can't get a manager. I was told I would need to wait three hours. I waited for an hour before they hung up on me. This is a common complaint that you will read on other reviews.
I am finding a new travel agency.

Kept my money, lied to BBB, got away with it

I had to cancel a flight due to covid and they said all I could get is a credit which I cannot use due to covid still blocking those countries. They refused to help me in any way so I filed a complaint with the BBB. They wrote the bbb saying they would issue me a refund minus a fee. 3 weeks of promised and no refund, then almost a month later they flat out say that they refuse to pay a refund. I contacted the BBB and was told to wait for a reply. 4 weeks later, no reply. My complaint was closed, my email deleted, and orbitz was not held accountable. I am now going to file a complaint through the attorney general's office in my home state. It's not just me, it's 100's of people going through this and they lie, hang up on, and play games to keep the money.

WORST FLIGHT TICKETS EVER! BE AWARE!

I bought at Orbitz a family trip ( 5 persons) and all flights has been cancelled.
I was out of my country and made many long distance calls to both Orbitz ans the airline company to help me to get back home.
Spent hours at the phone but they did NOT helped me and also dont offer at least a refund? Looks like a joke. I have paid, service was NOT provided and they said " Sorry, we cant do anything." See you guys at Court house.

Avoid at all costs, crooked

We will never be booking through Orbitz again. Our flight was canceled, after being rescheduled multiple times, due to COVID. Their customer service department is unhelpful, hard to get a hold of and can accomplish nothing. We were told to expect a refund within two months. We are now on month 3 with no end in sight. We are put off over and over and on hold for hours, days at a time. Their true colors are coming to the surface with covid and now that we know we will never trust them again.

Disastrous customer service

Why does Orbitz devote a dominant part of their opening webpage to social justice propaganda? Don't we go there to make flight/hotel/car bookings? Do we need to see an agenda by Orbitz to shape attitudes?
Before any of you start calling me names, I have no problem with whatever lifestyle choice anyone makes --Live & Let Live! -- but I am exhausted from companies driven by a need to emblazon a single dominant theme across their Home Page.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks, "Let me find a platform that is focused solely on the core mission of facilitating bookings."

If possible I wouldn’t even give them one star. I called the customer service number FOUR times, I was on hold each time for over a hour! I tried having them call me back and got put on hold both times again for over a hour. Ended up calling the airline direct to get the answer. Won’t use them again

Worst experience ever!

I paid 600 dollars on a car rental that I had reserved through Orbitz for 316.00 dollars.
I spoke with an Orbitz representative via chat which informed me I would receive a refund, that was on the actual day of rental. No refund was received.
I called back 3 days later and spent 3 hours on hold before I could speak to a live agent which stated I would receive a refund, that didn't happen either.
I then attempted to contact their customer service once again and was on hold for over 3 hours, never got to speak to a representative
